Google’s AI Glasses Are Almost Here

Google’s AI glasses are starting to look less like a sci-fi prop and more like a real product.

Which is honestly rude. We were enjoying the aesthetic.

Google says Gemini-powered audio glasses are coming this fall, and the display version can do directions, messages, translation, photos, and all the usual “your assistant is now attached to your skull” tricks.

A fresh hands-on from TechCrunch says the prototype is actually getting close. Not finished. Just close enough that now we get to have the privacy argument again, but with better frames.

The demo still looked a little clunky. Audio was not replacing earbuds. Some AI edits took long enough to remind everyone that latency is still a thing. But the vibe has changed. This is no longer a goofy concept. It is a plausible gadget.

So here’s the real question: would you actually wear AI glasses in public, or is this where you draw the line?
