Anthropic Files for IPO, Joining the 2026 Mega-Listing Race

Anthropic confidentially submitted its S-1, setting up a Wall Street debut alongside SpaceX and OpenAI in a crowded year for tech listings.

Anthropic has confidentially filed a draft S-1 with the SEC, confirming what bankers have been whispering for months: the Claude maker is going public. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan are reportedly leading the underwriting.

The company said the filing gives it the option to go public after SEC review, without committing to timing or size. Still, the move places Anthropic in a remarkable trio of 2026 mega-listings alongside SpaceX and OpenAI.

Valuation has more than doubled since a $30 billion raise earlier this year, and Anthropic’s push into more autonomous AI tools has made it both a market darling and a source of anxiety for traditional software investors.

The big question is whether Wall Street can absorb this much AI supply at once. Three trillion-dollar dream listings in one year would test even a frothy market.
